Planning Permission for New Community Facilities

The Brief

Our clients owned an indoor soft play and activity centre, with café and shop. With an increase in customers and interest from local schools, the clients sought to expand their business, by providing additional space for an after-school club and nursery. We were therefore instructed to prepare, submit and manage the planning application process.

Our Solution

We created a plan, which highlighted the different uses within the building and created a Planning Statement, which provided arguments in favour the application. We highlighted the National Planning Policy Framework outlined that the planning decisions should ensure facilities and services are able to develop and retained for the benefit of the community, and highlighted policies within Wiltshire Core Strategy, which note that facilities for the young should be improved.

The Planning Statement assessed the application in terms of its impact on the character and appearance of the area, highways and residential amenity, showing that there would be so harmful effects.

Project Success

Owing to the comprehensive arguments put forward, the planning application was approved without delay. Our clients can now continue to provide a much-loved service within the community.
